Haryana CM: 33% MBBS seats in new medical college will be reserved for Gurugram students

CM Saini, during a Cabinet sub-committee meeting, said that the MBBS fees for the reserved seats will be in the similar range as those in other government medical colleges.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced a reservation policy for aspiring medical students from Gurugram. He has directed the government officials to reserve 33 % of MBBS seats in the upcoming Shri Sheetla Mata Devi Medical College for Gurugram students.
During a Cabinet sub-committee meeting on the operation and maintenance of the college project through PPP mode, CM Saini said that to provide access to affordable medical education to Haryana students, the MBBS fees for the reserved seats should be in the similar range as those in other government medical colleges .
CM Saini also said that 33% of beds should also be reserved for the citizens of Gurugram in the new medical college and hospital. The Government of Haryana is currently constructing the Shri Sheetla Mata Devi Medical College and Hospital with a total of 150 MBBS seats and 850 beds.

Gurugram's new Rs 679 cr MBBS college
Sumita Misra, additional chief secretary of the Medical Education and Research Department, said during the meeting, as reported by PTI, that the institute is being developed at Sector - 102A, Kherki Majra, Gurugram and will be completed by August 31, 2026.
The chief minister also asked the government officials to prepare proposals for the opening of three to four additional hospitals with a score of 100 to 150 beds at various locations across Gurugram so that the healthcare needs of the citizens can be better fulfilled, as per the report.
The total cost of the project for the new medical college is Rs 679.08 crore, of which Rs 500 crore has already been spent, Misra said in the report.
She added that the project is being developed in the ratio of 50:45:5 by Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), Municipal Corporation of Gurugram and Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board, respectively.
Rao Narbir Singh, Industry and Commerce Minister, Arvind Sharma, Heritage and Tourism Minister, and Arti Singh Rao, Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister, were part of the meeting, along with other senior officials.
