IIM Bangalore launches online UG programme in digital business and entrepreneurship; eligibility

IIM Bangalore UG programme on digital Business and entrepreneurship will commence in September 2024.
NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Management (IIM Bangalore) has launched an undergraduate programme on ‘Digital Business and Entrepreneurship’. The programme will be delivered in online mode by the school’s digital learning initiative IIMBx.
Rishikesha T Krishnan, director of IIM Bangalore, highlighted that the programme is designed to empower students to become entrepreneurs, join digital enterprises or start-ups to facilitate their growth, or contribute to the digital transformation of traditional businesses. He said, "The programme has been structured in keeping with the education policy, and hence will have a flexible exit policy. The courses will be online and asynchronous; there will be recorded content to make them flexible as students will come from different streams. In terms of entrance, there will be a test. Overall, we will make it as engaging and interactive as possible.”
Registration begins from June 15
The application process for the programme will commence on June 15, with classes scheduled to begin in September 2024. Suresh Bhagavatula, a senior faculty member specializing in Entrepreneurship at IIMB, will serve as the course director for the three-year undergraduate programme. The programme will offer internship opportunities and hands-on projects.
IIM Bangalore BDE Programme: Eligibility criteria
Candidates can have a look at the eligibility criteria below.
- A Class 10 pass certificate from any recognized board.
- General category, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates are required to achieve a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in Class 12 board exams.
- Scheduled caste (SC) Scheduled Tribe (ST) and PwD (with≥40% disability) candidates are required to obtain 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA in Class 12.

The press release further states that the programme combines digital and management essentials with an entrepreneurial mindset, aiming to produce proactive, self-directed graduates capable of pursuing demanding roles in industries undergoing digital transformation. as per the university, through interactive sessions, internships, and hands-on projects, students will engage in a dynamic learning atmosphere with real-world scenario, enhancing essential skills for their future professional endeavors.

According to the university, the programme also puts emphasis on enabling students to network through collaborative projects, local engagements, and institutional events.
