IIM Jammu to start free online summer school for Classes 10 to 12 in July

IIM Jammu's online summer school aims to engage students in critical thinking and teach new skills.
NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu will conduct a week-long online summer school for students of Classes 10 to 12.
School students will be attending the summer school free of cost as it is an IIM Jammu-sponsored programme. The summer school will commence on July 3 and conclude on July 10, 2021. Students can send applications till June 30, 2021.
With an aim to make learning fun while engaging students in critical skill development, subject experts will educate students using the “innovative teaching pedagogies” used by IIM Jammu teachers.
“BS Sahay, director, IIM Jammu, has initiated the idea of Summer School to engage young students positively during the pandemic,” an official statement said. The summer school, the statement added, has received an overwhelming response from students across the country.
Career in entrepreneurship
After extensive research, the programme structure has been developed keeping in mind the young audience and focuses on three main modules.
The first module focuses on exploring future career opportunities while learning the global business environment and entrepreneurship.
The second module is dedicated to acquiring new skills like financial literacy, public speaking, problem-solving and critical thinking.
Focusing on personality development, the third module will highlight the importance of being happy, the value of developing a hobby, and the significance of time management.
The overall programme will help the students in their holistic development and help them realize their true potential.
