IIM Jammu welcomes NITTTR Chennai delegates to Yuva Sangam Phase-V

NEW DELHI : The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu in partnership with the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) Chennai welcomed participants of Yuva Sangam Phase-V. The five-day event launch was held at the Mandapam Auditorium of IIM Jammu.

The IIM Jammu programme is an initiative under the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ campaign by the education ministry, government of India, which aims to exchange and mutual understanding among youth from diverse regions of the country.

"The themes of the Yuva Sangam Phase-V programme include tourism (Paryatan), people-to-people connect (Paraspar Sampark), traditions (Parampara), development (Pragati), and technology (Prodyogiki)," IIM Jammu statement said.

At the event, BS Sahay the director of IIM Jammu, welcomed 40 participants from Chennai, including 20 male and 20 female students, accompanied by two faculty members from NITTTR Chennai, the IIM Jammu statement adds.

Other guests included Jabir Ali, the dean of academics, IIM Jammu; V Rajkumar, the chairperson of student affairs; Ashish Kumar, nodal officer at Yuva Sangam 2024; Apurva, the co-chairperson of student Affairs, IIM Jammu; Sudarshan, faculty member at NITTTR Chennai and Jacqueline Divya Mary, faculty of NITTTR Chennai.

IIM Jammu, NITTTR Chennai: Yuva Sangam Phase-V

The opening session facilitated cultural interactions, underlined by institute infrastructure and active engagement with national initiatives. The programme includes visits to iconic landmarks such as Raghunath Temple, Amar Mahal Palace Museum, and Suchetgarh Border, and offers participants insights into Jammu’s rich heritage, the IIM Jammu statement said.

According to the IIM Jammu statement, cultural exchange will be promoted through interactive programmes at institutions like Jammu University and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), to foster people-to-people connections and other theme programmes will be held.

Additionally, a plantation drive at IIM Jammu is also scheduled for the last day which will emphasize the importance of sustainability and environmental consciousness.

BS Sahay the director of IIM Jammu highlighted IIM Jammu's commitment to promote unity, cultural understanding, and national integration through initiatives such as Yuva Sangam. He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this transformative programme.

Sudarshan Kumar the faculty of NITTTR Chennai, expressed gratitude to govt of India, ministry of education, and the director of IIM Jammu for his support, noting that this initiative offers a unique opportunity for participants to gain insights.
