IIM Lucknow to commence online classes from August 3 for PGP batch

NEW DELHI - Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow has announced that the new academic session for the first year post graduate program (PGP) batch 2020-22 will begin from August 3 in online mode. The commencement of the session has been delayed by almost a month due to COVID 19 pandemic and the lockdown that was imposed because of coronavirus.
Online Classes - New Norm
In a statement given to the Hindustan Times , the Director of IIM Lucknow, Archana Shukla stated that the new session for the PGP batch will begin from August 3 and added that owing to COVID 19 it is not possible to call the students to the campus.
The decision to start online classes has been taken with an aim to follow social distancing norms and avoid the coming of the students to the campus. However, she added that only after the government issues the necessary guidelines that the normal regular classes will begin on the campus.
She further added that the online classes for the final year batch had begun from the second week of July.
Make up for the loss of classes at IIM Lucknow
On being asked how the loss of teaching hours be made up, Professor Archana Shulka told the Hindustan Times that they would cut down on the vacations, term break and other holidays and if required the summer internship as well as the convocation might also be delayed.

For selecting the candidates for the PGP batch for the academic year 2020-2022, IIM Lucknow changed its selection criteria wherein they did not have the written ability test which was of ten marks.
