IIT Kanpur collaborates with The Art of Living for student well-being programme

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) has collaborated with The Art of Living (TAOL) Foundation to introduce a well-being programme for students. The initiative aims to provide students with tools to manage stress, enhance focus, and improve emotional resilience.
The IIT Kanpur-TAOL collaboration will introduce specialized sessions incorporating meditation, breathing techniques, and mindfulness practices. These sessions will be conducted by facilitators from TAOL. The IIT Kanpur’s student well-being programme will include interactive workshops, guided meditation, and group activities.
IIT Kanpur’s Well-Being Programme: First phase in March
The first phase of the IIT Kanpur’s well-being programme is set to begin in the last week of March. The agreement was signed by Pratik Sen, dean of student affairs, IIT Kanpur, and Rajesh Jagasia, director of TAOL. Other attendees included Mahesh Gupta from the Board of Governors, IIT Kanpur, and representatives from both institutions.

'Practical tools to manage stress'
Pratik Sen emphasised that IIT Kanpur aims to support students' mental and emotional well-being alongside academic excellence. “At IIT Kanpur, we believe that academic excellence goes hand in hand with mental and emotional well-being. By collaborating with TAOL, we aim to equip our students with practical tools that will help them manage stress effectively and enhance their overall quality of life,” said Sen.
Rajesh Jagasia stated that TAOL programs have benefited individuals across various sectors, and this initiative will offer similar support to IIT Kanpur students . “We are delighted to collaborate with IIT Kanpur. Our programs have been transformative for individuals across various fields, and we look forward to bringing these benefits to the bright young minds at IIT Kanpur ,” said Jagasia.
