IIT Kanpur invites applications for second Cohort of eMasters degree for working professionals
IIT Kanpur: The two eMasters degree programs are now open for applications. The first application window closes on May 20, 2022.

Kanpur: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur is inviting applications for the second cohort of its eMasters degree programme for working professionals. After launching the first cohort on a high note in January 2022, IIT Kanpur has now announced the second cohort of the eMasters programme with two postgraduate programmes - Communication Systems and Quantitative Finance and Risk Management. These programmes are scheduled to start from July, 2022.

The e-Masters degree programmes have 60 credit, 12 module industry-focused curriculum, and executive-friendly format offer flexible completion timelines (one to three years), IIT Kanpur alumni status, access to IIT Kanpur’s placement cell, alumni network, and incubation cell.
The credits earned during the programme can be transferred to an advanced degree - a regular MTech or PhD - at IIT Kanpur by a participant selected to pursue the advanced degree and subject to Senate approval. Corporates can also sponsor the programmes for their employees, the institute said.
The postgraduate-level degree programme will be offered in a hybrid delivery format where participants learn online in an experiential format from IIT Kanpur faculty through the digital delivery platform ipearl.ai. They will also have the opportunity to visit IIT Kanpur to meet faculty and experience campus life.

The two eMasters degree programs are now open for applications. There are two application windows. The first application window closes on May 20, 2022. The final application window will remain open from May 21, 2022 to June 3, 2022.
eMasters programme in Communication Systems is specifically designed for professionals in the fields of Communications Equipment, Computers and Electronics, Electronics and Electrical, Optoelectronics and Fiber, Network Equipment and Virtualization, Telecommunication, VLSI, IoT, and Signal Processing.
“This programme would arm working professionals with a comprehensive appreciation and knowledge of modern digital communications systems. The program will apprise the trained professionals about the rapid developments in the field of communications in terms of 5G, 6G and Edge Computing being introduced in the country, the IIT Kanpur said.
eMasters program in Quantitative Finance and Risk Management will focus on the application of Quantitative Finance in improving risk management practices. It offers an opportunity to work on a maximum of four projects which provide hands-on skills in Quantitative Finance and Risk Management.

The programme is beneficial for budding traders and finance enthusiasts who are planning to make a visible impact in the alternative investment segments such as derivatives, stock market, forex trading, portfolio and fund management, algorithmic trading and capital markets.
IIT Kanpur director Abhay Karandikar said, “We are offering two in-demand programs this year and will continue to add more in the future. A formal degree in leading industry-focused areas will definitely create a meaningful impact for working professionals with high aspirations. It will help enhance their domain expertise and in turn multiply their contribution towards India’s digital transformation journey.”
