JEE Advanced 2020 cancelled in foreign centres; exam to be held only in India

Try NowNEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi has announced that JEE Advanced 2020 will not be conducted in foreign centres for this session. This decision has been made by the authorities due to the current restrictions imposed on foreign travel and visa issuance. However, all eligible foreign candidates who have registered for JEE Advanced will be allowed to select their choice of exam cities from India during registration.
Due to COVID-19, JEE Advanced 2020 exam date has been continuously postponed by the authorities. However, the exam is now confirmed to be held on September 27, 2020. Registration dates have not been announced yet, however it is expected to start as soon as the JEE Main exam is conducted by NTA.
Eligibility Criteria Revised
HRD Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ had earlier announced the revision of eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2020. He stated that candidates who have just passed 12th standard will be eligible for admissions into IITs through JEE Advanced regardless of their secured marks. Earlier, it was necessary for the candidates to secure a minimum score of 75% in the 10+2 qualifying exam for IIT admissions.

JEE Advanced is conducted every year to provide IIT admissions to eligible candidates. To be eligible for the examination, the candidates should have attempted JEE Main and be among the top 2,50,000 qualified ones.
