NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the final shift of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 exam today. According to students, JEE Main 2023 April 15 Shift-2 as compared to earlier sessions of JEE Main exam (phase-2), it was a paper of easy to moderate level.

The JEE Main paper today, according to experts physics was the easiest whereas mathematics with its lengthy calculations and tricky questions was considered to be moderate by many students. Overall, the JEE Main April 15 shift-2 paper was balanced which can be solved in the stipulated time. Average students found Mathematics difficult.

JEE Main 2023 April 15 shift-2: Subject-wise paper analysis

According to Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director, Engineering- Aakash BYJU’S-

  • The JEE Main 2023 shift-2 paper was based on NCERT books. According to the experts, most of the questions were theoretical. The questions in the physics section were from organic, physical and inorganic chemistry were evenly distributed in the paper. Questions were asked from chapters like chemical kinetics, electrochemistry, solid state, coordination compounds, amines, s-block and aldehyde, ketone and carboxylic acids were asked. According to students, XII class topics were on the higher side of the paper.
  • According to students, the Physics part was of easy level. Questions from mechanics, current electricity, semiconductors and modern physics were duly represented in the paper. Three to four questions from mechanics were there in the paper. Other chapters were also included in due proportions. There were a good number of numerical which were largely formula based. According to students, Class 12 Physics had more weightage in the paper.
  • The mathematics paper was moderate and slightly time taking due to the lengthy calculations involved. A few good questions were interspersed sporadically. Questions were asked from calculus, complex numbers, sequence and series, vectors and 3D and matrix and determinants were there. Vector and 3D were dominant in the paper. Almost all the topics were covered.
