Download EBookNEW DELHI : As the scheduled date for conducting Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and National Eligibility cum Entrance (Test NEET) approaches, desperate students have been trending #SpeakUpForStudentSafety on social media in hopes of the government agreeing to their demands of postponement.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is scheduled to conduct both JEE Main and NEET in September after it received the go-ahead from the Supreme Court.
Despite this, students, parents and state governments have protested demanding postponement citing health and safety concerns due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Students also pointed to the lack of transport facilities that will make commuting from their homes to the test centres difficult. Some complained about the difficulties of writing such high-stakes exams with time constraints while wearing masks and gloves.
Chief ministers of seven states and union territories including West Bengal, Maharashtra, Punjab, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Puducherry have decided to file a review petition against the Supreme court.
Here we have collected some of the responses of the students who were responding with the #SpeakUpForStudentSafety hashtag.
Some students asked the government to listen to their problems regarding health concerns.

Guyz there is not a single ray of hope that our exams will be postponed. Everyone is only using it as opportunity to play with our sentiments by giving fake hopes #neetJEE2020 @rashtrapatibhvn pic.twitter.com/3Y1kjC0anq
