JEE Mains 2026: How tough is NIT Tiruchirappalli's BTech CSE? Category-wise cut-off trends

The lowest cut-off for BTech CSE at NIT Trichy was 8020 for female-only seats, according to last year’s closing rank.
The Joint Entrance Examination Mains 2026 (JEE Mains) is the gateway for admission to top engineering institutes across the country, including the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli (NIT). The Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is the most sought-after course at the technology institute for the past several years, as per trends.
Ranked in the top 10 engineering institute list in the NIRF ranking 2025, the NIT Tiruchirappalli opened and closed its CSE admissions for the Other Backward Classes - Non Creamy Layer (persons with disability) (OBC-NCL (PwD)) at 18 rank.
The lowest cut-off for BTech CSE at NIT Trichy was 8020 for female-only seats, according to last year’s closing rank.

JoSAA 2026
The JoSAA counselling data also showed that the NIT Triruchirappalli closed admissions to its CSE course at All India Rank of 4569 for home state (HS) open category, gender-neutral candidates.
Moreover, under the other state (OS) quota, the closing rank for open category, gender-neutral candidates for the engineering course stood at 1449, and the female-only other state seats closed at a rank of 2599.
The JoSAA is a government body which conducts counselling for admission to all the NITs, Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs), Indian Institute of Technology (IITs), and other colleges.
The admission will be on the basis of AIR obtained by candidates in JEE Main. The JoSAA counselling will be started after the declaration of JEE Advanced 2026 results.
