NMMS scholarship 2023: Each student from JKBOSE will get a scholarship amount of Rs 12,000 per annum.
NEW DELHI: The Jammu and Kashmir board of school education (JKBOSE) has issued a notification regarding the conduct of the national means cum merit scholarship scheme (NMMSS) examination 2023-24 in Jammu & Kashmir.
To avail of this scholarship students will have to pass the mental aptitude test (MAT) and scholastic aptitude test (SAT) with at least 40% marks in aggregate for the general category. Whereas SC, ST category students will have to score 32% marks.
Additionally, the student must receive at least 55% marks in Class 8 and 60% marks in Class 10, as well as be promoted from Class 9 to Class 10 and Class 11 to Class 12 on the first attempt. The NMMSS scholarship is awarded for four years.
Based on merit, 1,069 students from Class 9 to Class 12 will be shortlisted and awarded scholarships worth Rs 12,000 for each student. The annual scholarship amount is Rs 12,000. The students will get a scholarship for four years and Rs 48,000.
Scholarship examination 2023: Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the scholarship examination are given below.

Students in class 8 are welcome to apply for the NMMSS Exam.

A minimum of 55% in Class 8 exams is required of applicants; SC/ST students may be exempted by 5%.

Students have to be enrolled in a local body, government-aided, or government school.

The total annual income of the family should not be more than Rs 3.50 lakh.

Reservation will be provided to different categories of students as per the UT of J&K reservation policy.
