Karnataka II PUC midterm exam 2021 will be conducted from November 29 to December 10.
NEW DELHI: Karnataka’s Pre-University Education department has proposed various changes in Karnataka 2nd PUC midterm exam 2021 in order to conduct fair exams which will be introduced later this month, as per a Times of India report.
Karnataka 2nd PUC midterm exam 2021 will be held from November 29 to December 10.

One of the major changes to be done by PUE is in answer scripts which will now be evaluated by lecturers of other colleges. The answer scripts of all students will be distributed among the colleges randomly at the nodal centres. All examination-related activities will be conducted at these nodal centres, as per the report.
It is to be noted that there will be no changes in Karnataka I PUC midterm examination, the report said.

The authorities told the Times of India that earlier the question papers were prepared at the district level by a principals’ association in partnership with the PUE and the evaluation was done at the college itself. However, both the formation of the question papers and evaluation process has been changed by PUE.
The lecturers are being trained for the new system and told TOI that the question papers will be prepared by the department itself. A committee will be formed under the chairmanship of Deputy Director of Pre-University (DDPU) at every district to conduct the exams with ease. Nodal centres will be set up to assist distribution of question papers, collection and distribution of answer scripts for evaluation, etc.

According to the new guidelines, the answer scripts will be checked in other colleges to stop bias in the evaluation process, the report said.
Some lecturers and principals have found the new system unscientific, however, the report suggested. “We welcome the district-level examination. However, post-examination procedures are unscientific. The admission for the 2nd PUC is not completed till now. Shortage of manpower at nodal centres is another challenge. We are expecting more clarifications on these from the department,” the TOI quoted a college principal as saying.
