NEW DELHI: The state-level law entrance exam of Maharashtra, MH CET Law 2021 is likely to be conducted in the last week of July or the first week of August. MH CET Law is conducted every year for admission to 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB programmes offered by the law college in Maharashtra.

Candidates preparing for the MH CET Law 2021 should be well versed with the test structure and syllabus to score well in the exam. It will also help them identify the topics they need to prepare and make them aware of the types of questions asked in the examination.

The Directorate of Higher Education, Maharashtra (DHE) has released the syllabus and test structure of MH CET law 2021. Here are the details.

MH CET Law 5-year LLB syllabus 2021

It will be an undergraduate level test in which 150 questions will be asked from five sections as mentioned below. The difficulty level of the test will be of intermediate level.

MH CET law 3-year LLB test structure 2021

The 3-year LLB admission test will be a graduate-level examination comprising five sections. The candidates will be expected to have awareness of graduation level. The details of th etest structure are as follows.

Legal aptitude and legal reasoning

This section will test candidates’ knowledge of the law, legal aptitude and problem-solving ability. Questions are generally asked from legal prepositions and a set of facts, Indian polity, Constitution and other such topics.

General knowledge and current affairs

In this section, questions will be asked from general subjects such as history (ancient, medieval and modern), geography, general science, economics, civics. For current affairs, candidates should read the general topics of the past eight to twelve months. The current affairs topics include but are not limited to current events of national and international importance.

Logical reasoning and analytical skills

In this section, candidates will be asked questions related to identifying different patterns, logical links, relationships etc. Questions are generally framed from topics such as analogies, completing arguments, making conclusions from given information, reasoning by analogy, blood relations and others.

English

This section will test both language skills and the ability to read and comprehend. There will be at least two comprehension passages followed by five to ten questions. The topics included are vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms and analogies, idioms and phrases, one-word substitution, sentence correction and rearrangement, identifying errors and inappropriate use of words.

Mathematics

Only 5-year LLB MH CET Law 2021 will have questions from the maths section. It is not included in the 3-year LLB admission test paper. This section will test the numerical ability of candidates with a difficulty level corresponding to Class 10. Questions will be framed from topics such as profit and loss, speed and distance, time and work average, Venn diagram and algebra.

Important points to remember about MH CET Law 2021

  1. All questions will be multiple-choice type questions with four answer options.

  2. MHCET Law 2021 will be conducted in online, computer-based test (CBT) mode.

  3. The test duration will be of two hours.

  4. The test paper will be available in two languages - Marathi and English

  5. Each question will carry one mark and there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.
