NEET PG 2025 moderate, PYQs asked, cut-off likely to rise; say experts, postgraduates

The National Eligibility Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025 was moderate in difficulty level, as per reactions by candidates and doctors. Over 2.42 lakh candidates wrote the PG medical entrance exam at 1,052 examination centres across the country.

NEET PG cut-off 2025 is expected to go high as the NEET PG 2025 question paper comprised easy questions, the postgraduates claimed. The question paper comprised 200 multiple-choice questions carrying two marks each.

Vaibhav Sharma, a 2018 batch MBBS and Pt JNMMC student said, “Felt like the easiest NEET PG exam in years. Rank inflation's gonna be crazy this year.”

Sharing the NEET PG paper review 2025, an MBBS, Siddharth Naik wrote, “The difficulty level of the exam was moderate and the question paper contained lengthy questions. The exam followed an integrated pattern and had indirect Previous Year Questions (PYQs). Students required in-depth knowledge.”

Psychiatrist Praveen Tripathi said in a post, “The paper was easy to moderate. A high number of PYQs (modified PYQs) were asked. In some questions, options were confusing. NEET PG cut-off is likely to go high. In such papers, clustering becomes an issue as everyone would have answered the straightforward questions correctly.”

“The same story continues. Over 160 questions were directly from previously asked topics (the same topics that have been repeated for the last 7–8 years). Around 20–30 questions were direct repeats from previous year papers. The difficulty level of the exam was easy to moderate. Options were less confusing compared to last year. Expect higher ranks even at good scores this year,” said an MD Medicine.
