NIRF Ranking 2022: AIIMS Delhi tops list of best medical colleges again
NIRF Ranking 2022 Medical Colleges: AIIMS Delhi is the best medical college in the country. PGIMER Chandigarh and CMC Vellore are second and third.

NEW DELHI: All India Institute of Medical Sciences, or AIIMS Delhi, has topped the list of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF ranking 2022) medical college ranking 2022 released on Friday. The central government-run institute has been the best medical college in the country ever since the medical category was introduced in the NIRF India ranking in 2018.

Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh took the second spot while Christian Medical College, Vellore has been ranked third in this year's education ministry’s NIRF rankings under the medical category. Like AIIMS Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh and CMC Vellore have also maintained their position in the NIRF ranking ever since 2018.
A total of 50 medical institutions have been ranked out of 151 which participated in NIRF India rankings 2022 in medical college category.

Students who wish to take admission in NIRF top medical colleges at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels have to qualify for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET). The national-level NEET UG 2022 will be held on July 17, 2022. NEET 2022 admit card was released on July 12, 2022.

NIRF 2022 Dental College Ranking
Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai has replaced Manipal College of Dental Science, Udupi from the top position in NIRF India ranking 2022 in dental college category. Manipal College of Dental Science, Udupi has slipped to second position from its top position of last year. D Y Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune which was at second spot in previous year ranking has slipped to third position in NIRF 2022 dental college ranking.
As many as 142 institutions participated in NIRF 2022 rankings in dental colleges category and 40 of them have been ranked.

NIRF 2022 Ranking
Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan released the NIRF ranking 2022 where the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras emerged as the top institute in India. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and IIT Bombay were ranked second and third respectively in the overall NIRF ranking 2022. This is the seventh edition of NIRF India ranking and the first edition was released in April 2016.

Under the education ministry's ranking framework, higher education institutes across the country are assessed on various parameters including teaching, learning and resources, research and professional practices, graduation outcome outreach and inclusivity, and perception. The rankings have been released for a total of 11 categories – overall , universities, engineering , colleges , management , pharmacy, medical, architecture, dental, law and research institutions.
