NLU Delhi hosts 7th edition of Summer School

The week-long programme is to bring together scholars, instructors, and students for an intensive week of lectures, discussions and other activities.
NEW DELHI: The Centre for Communication Governance at National Law University Delhi (CCG NLUD) organised the seventh edition of the summer school between the Hans-Bredow Institute, the University of Hamburg, the Institute for Technology and Society of Rio De Janeiro (ITS Rio). The week-long programme is to bring together scholars, instructors, and students for an intensive week of lectures, discussions, and interactive classroom activities.
This year, the focus of the summer school programme will be on ‘Platform Governance’. About 28 students including twenty students from Brazil and Germany, and eight students from NLU Delhi will be the part of summer school cohort of 2023. Instructors from the Hans-Bredow Institute, ITS Rio, CCG NLUD and select external instructors, will conduct the lectures for this year's programme.

"The lecture schedule includes sessions on content moderation, platform impact on elections, the oversight board, platform transparency, the content safety ecosystem, the EU’s Digital Services Act, and platforms, competition and consumer protection issues. The summer school programme also includes a keynote lecture by Shyam Divan, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India and a guest lecture by Pamela San Martin, a former Electoral Councillor at the National Electoral Institute in Mexico and current member of Meta’s Oversight Board", reads an official statement.
Earlier editions of the NLU Delhi summer school focussed on data governance, freedom of expression and online intermediaries, privacy, harmful speech, surveillance, and data protection.
