NMIMS launches MSc Applied Psychology programme from September 2021

NMIMS (Deemed University) has introduced MSc Applied Psychology from this academic year. The last date to apply for the programme is September 12.
NEW DELHI: The Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) which is a deemed-to-be-university has launched Masters of Science (MSc) in Applied Psychology programme from September 2021. The course will focus on overall development of students by giving them insights into applied psychology in order to make them good professionals.
The MSc Applied Psychology programme is a two-year programme with major focus on advanced, specialised knowledge of psychology, clinical or industrial scopes and applications for practicing and researching in the field.
The last date to apply for MSc Applied Psychology is September 12 and there are a total of 40 seats available, a statement from NMIMS said.

The course offers practical papers based on several clinical assessments which will help enhance knowledge of students and help them gain deeper understanding of clinical phenomena, the NMIMS statement said.

The programme is meant for students who have studied psychology earlier and want to learn how psychology is applied to a specific aspect in life.
Students who study this course can start their career as mental healthcare workers or allied healthcare professionals after the completion of degree, the NMIMS statement said.

“The concepts of analysis, intervention and evaluation are central to the structure and philosophy of this program. The core modules provide training in research methods and professional issues. The subjects provided in the curriculum further develop these competencies and expand knowledge, while enabling students to consider their applications in specific content areas,” the statement from NMIMS said.
The MSc applied psychology programme offers preparatory training; specialised PG professional course or doctoral course in psychology; and psychological expertise to those pursuing a career in psychology, as per the NMIMS statement.

According to the NMIMS statement, the areas of applied psychology studies comprise of educational psychology, child psychology, clinical psychology, and counselling psychology.
