OP Jindal Global University launches 5 short-term Japan study abroad programmes for Summer 2026

The OP Jindal Global University (JGU) has announced five Short-Term Study Abroad Programmes (ST-SAPs) for the summer 2026. The programmes offer academic exposure, cultural immersion, and international learning experiences across five Japanese universities.

The ST-SAPs for summer 2026 will be held between June 15 and 4 July across five Japanese institutions - University of Tokyo, Chuo University, University of Yamanashi, Kyorin University, and Musashi University.

Strengthening the India-Japan bilateral relations through study abroad programmes , C Raj Kumar, vice chancellor of JGU, explained: “Japan stands at the forefront of innovation, governance, culture, and sustainable development, and these programmes represent an extraordinary opportunity for immersive learning. By building one of the largest India–Japan academic networks, JGU is contributing to strengthening bilateral relations and preparing globally minded graduates equipped to address the complex challenges of our time.”

JGU sends first ST SAP cohort of 40 students to Japan

“This significant expansion of our study abroad offerings in Japan reflects JGU’s steadfast commitment to globalising Indian higher education and creating meaningful pathways for our students to engage with the world,” he added.

Notably, the first ST-SAP was held earlier this year, when the JGU sent a 40-student cohort to Temple University Japan, marking a significant step towards deeper cultural exposure, academic engagement, and student mobility.

At present, JGU has over 25 institutional partnerships across several Japanese institutions such as University of Tokyo, United Nations University, Chuo University, Doshisha University, University of Yamanashi, Ritsumeikan University, Osaka Gakuin University, Hiroshima University and many others across the national, public, and private institutions.

“The intellectual diversity of Japan’s academic ecosystem, unique opportunities to explore governance, technology, society, heritage, and sustainability, Japan’s renowned blend of tradition and innovation. The programmes also expand Student mobility, Faculty collaboration and Cross-border research,” according to the official statement.
