Pune Municipal Corporation to start CBSE school at Balewadi: Report
Fifty percent of the admission to this English-medium school based on CBSE pattern will be from PMC and no fees will be charged for these students.

NEW DELHI: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to start an English-medium school based on the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) pattern in Balewadi, according to the Hindustan Times report.
The report further said that the school will be run with the help of a private educational institute. “In the first year, it will have till Classes 9 and 10 and subsequently, the Classes will be increased”.

“It has been decided to run the school on the CBSE pattern. All other PMC schools are based on the state board pattern. The PMC has invited proposals from various educational institutes to run this school,” PMC education officer Shivaji Daundkar said, as per the report by HT.
It will be the responsibility of the private educational institute that takes over the school to run the school and teach students. The report also said that the PMC will give school building, sports ground and other basic infrastructure to run the school.

Fifty percent of the admission to this English-medium school based on CBSE pattern will be from PMC and no fees will be charged for these students. Out of the 50% students, 30% will be from PMC state-board schools and the rest 20% will be from economically weaker classes and as recommended by the municipal commissioner, the report added.
The corporation also informed that if it is not satisfied with the private institution that runs the school, it will cancel the contract.
