‘None found suitable’ for promotion to district judge through Limited Competitive Exam: Rajasthan High Court

Rajasthan: Only one candidate - roll number 11703 - qualified the Mains exam held for direct recruitment and none in the Limited Competitive Examination.
NEW DELHI: The Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur declared the results for the written exam conducted for promotion in the Cadre of District Judge by way of Limited Competitive Examination, 2024. Shockingly, none of the candidates qualified the exam.
“None found qualified”, the Rajasthan HC wrote in all caps on the latest notification. Senior Civil Judges, who have completed five years service as on January 1, 2024, were allowed to appear for the Limited Competitive Examination for promotion to the cadre of District Judge.
The competitive exam was held on March 8 and 9 consisting of subjective and narrative type questions. There were a total of 4 papers carrying 100 marks each. Selected candidates were required to attend an interview round for 50 marks. Since no candidate got shortlisted, there will be no interview round.

A total of 41 vacancies (38+ 3) were announced for district judge cadre for the year 2025-26, of which 1 post was reserved for direct recruitment, 1 for promotion by LCE exam, and 36 regular promotions. The additional 3 future vacancies are not assigned to any category for the present.
Moreover, only one candidate - roll number 11703 - qualified the Mains exam for direct recruitment.
“The statement of marks of the candidates, who have not qualified to be called for an interview, will be uploaded soon. Therefore, candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website,” it said.
