In the letter addressed to the Secretary of the Ministry of Education and the Director General of NTA, candidates share that had already completed their preparation cycle, appeared for the examination, and shifted their focus to counselling, admissions, and other academic commitments before being informed about the re-examination.

It further states that the decision to hold the re-exam within a short period has caused significant mental stress among candidates. Students have reportedly highlighted issues such as anxiety, emotional distress, sleep disturbances, and difficulties in restarting their preparation under uncertain circumstances.
The letter reads, "NEET is one of the most competitive examinations in the country, requiring extensive preparation over several months. The limited time currently available before the proposed re-examination is insufficient for meaningful revision and preparation. Students who had performed well in the earlier examination are particularly aggrieved, as they are being required to reappear despite having committed no wrongdoing. Such circumstances raise serious concerns regarding fairness and equal opportunity for all candidates."
Additional time for travel arrangements
Along with academic concerns, the letter points to logistical difficulties faced by students, especially those from rural areas and distant districts. It states, "Numerous students belong to distant districts and rural areas and require adequate time for travel arrangements, accommodation, and other logistical preparations. Several candidates have also highlighted health-related concerns arising from prolonged stress and uncertainty."
Letter argues that the confidence of students in the examination process can only be restored if they are provided a reasonable opportunity to prepare and compete in a fair and stress-free environment.

Postpone Re-NEET by a month
Seeking relief, the aspirants have requested that the proposed Re-NEET examination be postponed by at least one month. They have also urged the authorities to announce a revised schedule with adequate notice so that candidates can prepare effectively.
The letter reads, "In these extraordinary circumstances, it is respectfully requested that the proposed Re-NEET examination scheduled for 21 June 2026 be postponed by at least one month."
It calls upon the Ministry of Education and NTA to consider the concerns raised by students and take an appropriate decision in their larger interest. As of now, no official response from the NTA regarding the representation has been made public.
Internet reacts
The letter quickly gained attention on social media after Advocate Vineet Jindal shared it on X. However, many users questioned the demand for postponing the Re-NEET exam, pointing out that the representation is based on requests from only 1,467 students out of nearly 22 lakh candidates. Most comments opposed any further delay sharing concerns that the postponement will delay the counselling and admission process and will affect the academic calendar.
A user commented, "I think this advocate is a real cockroach. Bro..The counselling process has already been delayed. I sincerely hope there are no further issues or leaks in the re-NEET examination. Best wishes to all our future doctors." Another user, claiming to be NEET aspirant said if the exam gets postponed, it will worsen his mental health. He commented, "This not helping but literally torturing me, I just want to get this re-NEET thing done as fast as possible."

Supporting his response, another user commented, "Nonsense. Students will feel relaxed only if it gets over. They have prepared for two years and they got one month extra. No need to postpone. Who gave this dumb idea?"
A few users, however, supported the request and argued that students should be given some extra time to prepare. Defending the letter, one user posted, "We don't want one month and all just 1 or 2 week would suffice..we just want to compensate the time especially this last crucial week where we lost due to sitting in front of monitors downloading admit cards..we just need that time back." Most of them argued that the number would be in lakhs not 1,467 if it surveyed all over India.
