Schools, colleges reopen in Bihar; Classes 1-8 to function with 50% capacity
COVID-19: Classes 9 to 12, colleges and coaching centres are allowed to function with full capacity.

NEW DELHI: Schools, colleges and coaching institutes have reopened in Bihar on February 7 owing to the declining Covid cases in the state. According to an order released by the Bihar government, offline classes can be resumed for Classes 1 to 8 with 50 percent occupancy, but Classes 9 to 12, colleges and coaching centres are allowed to function with full capacity.
“Corona situation has been reviewed. In view of the improvement in the situation of corona infection, all schools up to class 8th will be able to open with 50 percent capacity and all schools and colleges and coaching institutes belonging to classes 9th and above will be able to open with 100 percent attendance,” said Nitish Kumar, chief minister of Bihar, in a tweet.
कोरोना की स्थिति की समीक्षा की गई। कोरोना संक्रमण की स्थिति में सुधार को देखते हुए 8वीं कक्षा तक के सभी विद्यालय 50 प्रतिशत क्षमता के साथ तथा 9वीं एवं ऊपर की कक्षाओं से संबंधित सभी विद्यालय एवं महाविद्यालय तथा कोचिंग संस्थान शत-प्रतिशत उपस्थिति के साथ खुल सकेंगे। (1/5)

Sanjay Kumar, the additional chief secretary of Bihar, shared the government guidelines regarding the reopening of schools and colleges in Bihar on Twitter. He also shared the directives for COVID-19 management. “All educational institutions, hostels, coaching centres to reopen from February 7 , 2022,” he said.

Schools were closed for Classes 1 to 8 in Bihar owing to the rise in COVID-19 cases and Omicron variant cases. But offline classes were reopened for Classes 9 and above with 50 percent capacity.
Schools are reopening in many states across the country. The centre government has also released new guidelines on reopening schools, under which, states and union territories can decide to reopen schools.
