The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) declared the General Duty (GD) Constable 2025 final result, which saw a decrease in cut-offs for unreserved male candidates qualifying against All-India vacancies of SSF. In 2025, the UR category cut-off dropped to 147.47214 from 159.61592 in 2024, a decline of over 12 marks.
For female candidates, the SSC GD Constable 2025 final result also shows a decrease in cut-offs for All-India vacancies compared with 2024. In 2024, the UR category cut-off was 154.45598, while in 2025, the UR cut-off decreased to 143.75341, a decline of over 10.7 marks.
The OBC category cut-off dropped from 152.82912 in 2024 to 142.71019 in 2025, a reduction of approximately 10.1 marks. Overall, the cut-offs for female candidates declined by roughly 10–11 marks across the categories reported, reflecting a similar trend to the male candidates, with lower score thresholds despite increased participation.
Factors behind decline in SSC GD constable cut-offs
The decrease in cut-offs for male and female candidates in SSC GD Constable 2025 may reflect a relatively tougher exam compared with 2024, leading to lower scores. A higher number of candidates and adjustments in the normalisation process could also have influenced the overall score distribution.
The total number of vacancies also affects the cut-offs. In 2025, the recruitment drive aimed to fill 53,690 posts, including 48,320 for male candidates and 53,690 for female candidates. In comparison, the 2024 drive considered 46,617 vacancies, with 41,467 for male and 5,150 for female candidates.

This year, a total of 3,94,121 candidates were shortlisted for PET and PST. Of these, 126,736 candidates qualified for Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Document Verification (DV). In comparison, 3,51,176 candidates were shortlisted in 2024, marking an increase of 42,945 candidates or 12.2% in participation.
Among female candidates, 40,213 are shortlisted in 2025, up from 39,440 in 2024, an increase of 773 candidates. Out of these, 13,073 qualified PET/PST this year, compared with 4,818 selected in 2024, reflecting an increase of 8,255 in candidates advancing to the next stage.
