Start West Bengal NEET UG Counselling 2021 without delay: State doctors urge WBMCC

Download EBookNEW DELHI: West Bengal Doctors Forum has urged the Department of Health and Family Welfare (DHFW), Kolkata, to start the NEET UG Counselling 2021 soon without “further delay”. According to the NEET counselling 2022 schedule released by National Medical Commission (NMC), the states have to start the first round of NEET-UG Counselling on January 27, 2022.
The West Bengal Doctors Forum said, “We request WBMCC to issue notification for NEET-UG 2021 Counselling as soon as possible, which should commence from January 27 as instructed by the MCC , further delay would increase mental agony of the students manifold.”
In a letter to the director of medical education, West Bengal, the WBDF said, “While many states have announced the schedule of the counselling, WBMCC is yet to publish any notification regarding the same, as on January 26, 2022, as per the information received by us.”
MCC has instructed all state counselling committees to conduct the 1st round of state NEET UG counselling between January 27 till January 31, with the last date of joining being February 7, 2022.

It further said, “We have witnessed the same delay in NEET PG 2021 Counselling notification publication by the WBMCC.” The NEET PG Counselling 2021 notification was later released on January 25 evening. It has to be noted that the NEET PG Counselling was supposed to begin from January 20 and end on January 24, as per the schedule announced by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
The West Bengal MBBS 2021 counselling process will fill 4,150 MBBS and 550 BDS seats. Medical aspirants who have met the NEET qualifying cut off 2021 can register and apply online for West Bengal NEET admissions when the counselling will begin on the official website, wbmcc.nic.in.
