TISS invites applications for PG programmes in education studies; admission through CUET PG

Students can apply for integrated BEd-MEd, 2-year MA Education, programmes for working professionals at pgcuet.samarth.ac.in.
NEW DELHI: The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has opened admissions to postgraduate programmes in educational studies. Admission will be offered through the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate (CUET PG). Students can apply through the CUET PG website, pgcuet.samarth.ac.in. The last date to register for TISS PG admission 2024 is January 24, 2024.
The institute is offering 3-year integrated BEd-MEd at Mumbai campus, 2-year MA Education at Hyderabad and Mumbai campuses, 2-year MA Education (Elementary) programme offered in the blended mode for working professionals and 1-year MA Education and Technology programme. The PG programmes will be offered by the School of Education (SOE), Mumbai, Centre of Excellence in Teacher Education (CETE), Mumbai and the School of Educational Studies (SES), Hyderabad.
The integrated BEd-MEd programme allows students to exit with a BEd after two years or pursue a 2-year MEd degree (lateral entry in the second year) if they already hold a BEd. The programme includes specializations in curriculum studies, education development and policy, inclusive education, and ICT and new media. Students will also get the opportunity of a 1-year internship while career opportunities include middle/secondary school teaching, academic opportunities in education departments, curriculum development, education policy analysis, educational planning and administration, school leadership and research.
Career opportunities
The MA Education programme covers topics such as curriculum and pedagogic transformation, research, and advanced specializations. Graduates can specialize in two of 10 specialized areas including disciplinary education, economics of education, education policy, and education technology. The programme is available both on-campus and in a blended learning mode. It also offers experiential learning through field engagements, internships, and field attachment in government and non-government organisations as well as schools.
MA Education graduates will get career opportunities such as policy-related professions, programme design and Implementation, curriculum and resource development, evaluation and monitoring as well as research and higher education.
The MA Education (Elementary) programme can secure jobs related to elementary schooling systems, curriculum development, educational consulting, teacher education, education research and school administration.
Furthermore, the MA Education and Technology programme will focus on teaching and learning design, learning sciences, emerging technologies, product management, social marginalization, and education policies. Consultancy options in education technology, product management, programme management, research, curriculum design, learning/instructional design and educational content creation are some of the career opportunities in this programme.
