Tripura Institute of Technology gets AICTE approval for M.Tech courses

NEW DELHI: The State Education Minister of Agartala, Ratan Lal Nath on June 26 announced that Tripura Institute of Technology is approved by the All Indian Council of Technical Education (AICTE) to start M.Tech programmes. According to the reports, the three M.Tech courses to be introduced at the institute shall include Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) and Embedded System, Thermal Engineering and Data Science. With the intake capacity of 18 students in each specialization, a total of 54 students will get admission in M.Tech courses at TIT.

According to the education minister, there is no shortage of engineering faculty in the institute, thus, the M.Tech programme shall commence from the current session only.

M.Tech courses in different disciplines are taught in the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tripura. The institute was converted from Tripura Engineering College, a state engineering college, to a National Institute of Technology in 2006.

About Tripura Institute of Technology

The Tripura Institute of Technology, Narsingpur was established in 1958 with only three engineering branches, namely Civil, Electrical and Mechanical. Lateron, Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering was added in 1995. Almost 1100 students are enrolled in the institute under these five programmes.
