NEW DELHI: For the first time, two Common Law Admission Tests (CLATs) will be conducted in 2022. CLAT 2022 will be conducted on May 08, 2022 while, CLAT 2023 will be held on December 18, 2022. It will be a regular schedule for CLAT 2022 aspirants, however, candidates who were planning to appear in 2023, will have less time to prepare for the examination given that most candidates will also be preparing for board exams at that time.

Therefore, this is the right time for all CLAT aspirants to kickstart their preparation. Both CLAT 2022 and CLAT 2023 will have a similar pattern and syllabus. Candidates can check the test details below.

CLAT exam pattern 2022-2023

The consortium has not announced any changes to the exam pattern. It will be conducted in offline mode and candidates will be given question booklets and OMR sheets at the examination hall. The number of questions will be 150, each carrying one mark and a negative marking of 0.25 will also be applicable for each incorrect answer.

Around 60,000 candidates appear for CLAT every year, making it one of the most competitive law entrance exams in the country. To secure a decent rank in the merit list, candidates have to score good marks which can only be secured through consistent preparation.   2. CLAT focuses on reading comprehension, therefore, candidates should read daily newspapers, legal journals, magazines while preparing for the exam.

  3. Follow standard books recommended by the CLAT toppers and teachers.

  4. Solve all previous year papers especially those based on the new CLAT exam pattern. In addition to this, one should solve around 30-40 sample papers and mock tests.

  5. Stay calm and consistent and follow a study routine.
