Ensure timely upload of academic records: UGC to HEIs

“Corrections or modifications to already uploaded records may be permitted only in exceptional cases and in accordance with the prescribed procedures of the NAD/ABC system,” the education ministry said.

Moreover, the HEIS should also have to review the current status on the uploading of documents on the ABC portal, it said.

The colleges and universities should also ensure that “the upload of academic records including marksheets/grade sheets and corresponding credit data, pertaining to the Examination Year 2025 on the NAD-ABC platform within the prescribed timeline,” it added.

The directive refers to the Ministry of Education's (MoE) circular, issued in May, 2026, stating that the timely upload of academic records linked with students' APAAR IDs is critical for the seamless functioning of the ABC ecosystem, enabling credit accumulation, transfer, and redemption.

“The move is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which envisions a flexible, credit-based, multidisciplinary education framework with multiple entry and exit points, aimed at promoting lifelong learning across Higher Education Institutions in India,” it also added.
