The UGC Subject Matter Expert Committee has selected courses matching with the six pillars of the Arctic Policy of India,” the commission added.
“Changing weather patterns have global consequences, affecting everything from monsoon cycles to rising sea levels. Considering the critical role of the Arctic in global conversations and our country, courses on arctic are a value addition for our youth. These courses are credit-eligible, and universities have the flexibility to integrate them according to their preferred design of curriculum,” said UGC chief Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar.
