UGC NET 2024 June session exam dates announced; to be held from June 10 to 21

NTA will conduct the UGC NET exam 2024 for 83 subjects. Qualifying candidates will be awarded certificate for assistant professor and JRF fellowship.
NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC NET 2024) between June 10 to 21. The UGC NET exam 2024 is held to grant eligibility certificate for assistant professor as well as Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

The NTA along with JEE Main, CUET UG, NEET UG 2024 exam date announced the UGC NET 2024 exam dates today at the official website, nta.ac.in. The NET exam is held twice a year in June and December. As per the latest announcement, the NTA will announce the UGC NET result three weeks after the conclusion of the exam; second week of July.

The eligibility certificate is awarded to candidates based on the aggregate performance in paper 1 and paper 2 in the UGC NET exam. The exam is held in computer-based test (CBT) mode for 83 subjects. The last session was held in two phases panning over 9 days in 18 shifts in 181 cities across the country. A total of 6,39,069 candidates appeared in last year’s UGC NET exam.
Candidates should note that those who qualify for just assistant professor will not be eligible for JRF scholarship. As per the UGC policy, 6% of those candidates who appear in both the papers and obtain minimum qualifying marks in aggregate of both the papers are declared NET qualified.
In August 2023, the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, increased the fellowship stipend of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) and all three-levels of research associates. The JRF fellowship stipend was increased by 19% and SRF by 20%.
