NEW DELHI: The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2024 result date is yet to be announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA). However, several media reports have claimed that the UGC NET results 2024 will be declared soon on the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Candidates who appeared in the UGC NET June rescheduled exams can expect the results by the first week of October, as per past trends. UGC NET Result 2024 Live Updates
The NTA conducted the UGC NET June exam 2024 from August 21 to September 5. Following which, it uploaded the provisional answer keys and allowed candidates to challenge by September 14. Concerns about high-cost non-refundable objection fees as well as delay in the announcement of UGC NET results were raised by candidates on social media platforms. Notably, UGC allowed the universities to grant admission into PhD courses through the NTA UGC NET score from the academic year 2024-25.
The UGC NET result link 2024 will be hosted on the official websites, nta.ac.in and ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Candidates will have to key in their UGC NET application number, password/ date of birth, and security pin on the result link to view and download the scorecard.
The UGC NET score card 2024 will have details of the subject appeared for, marks secured, NTA score, cut-off, candidate’s personal details, and qualifying status. Along with the UGC NET results, the NTA will also upload the final answer key based on which 6% of top candidates are chosen for JRF fellowship, assistant professor posts, and PhD admission.
UGC NET Result 2024: Normalisation method
Here’s the normalisation method used to calculate the UGC NET results 2024 for the June session.
- As the NTA conducts the UGC NET exam 2024 in multiple shifts for a total of 83 subjects, the raw marks obtained by candidates in different sessions will be converted into NTA percentile.
- The calculated NTA score for the raw marks for all the shifts/sessions will be merged for further processing for deciding the allocation.
- “In the event of the percentiles for the multi-shifts being dissimilar / unequal, the lowest will be the eligibility cut-off for that category for all candidates (i.e. all shifts),” it said.
“For Example: In the examination held in two shifts, if the 40% marks correspond to a Percentile score of 78 in Shift 1 and 79 in Shift 2, then all those equal to or above 78 percentiles (Percentile score of 100 to 78) in both shifts will become eligible in General Category. Similar methods will be adopted for the other categories to determine eligibility cut-offs. In case the examination is held in a greater number of shifts the same principle shall apply,” the NTA explained.
