University of Bath, FIFA invite applications for MSc in football medicine
University of Bath will host an online induction on September 21 and 22, 2023 for the MSc programme.

NEW DELHI: The University of Bath, England in association with Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) is accepting late applications for admissions to its MSc programme in football medicine 2023 for Indian students. Candidates planning to join in 2024, will be able to apply in early September this year.
The upcoming session of the MSc programme will commence with an online induction on September 21 and 22, 2023. The MSc football medicine is a part-time distance learning programme, spanning 3-5 years. The current annual fees for the MSc football medicine programme are 7,425 euros with an additional 3,310 euros for the research phase.

Eligible applicants must hold a Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Surgery degree. They must be qualified medical doctors with full unrestricted registration with the General Medical Council or its equivalent in their country. They also must meet the English language requirements, which include a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 with no component score less than 6.0, a Pearson Test of English Academic score of 62 with no element score lower than 59, or a TOEFL IBT score of 90 overall with a minimum of 21 in all four components.
Aspiring students should also possess a minimum of one year's work experience as a qualified and registered doctor before enrolling in the programme. Proof of medical licensing and confirmation of authenticity (if applicable) will also be required. Candidates are required to submit a short personal statement outlining their qualifications, experience, motivations for joining the course, and how they plan to apply the acquired knowledge upon completion.
The university’s Department for Health has partnered with FIFA, the world's governing body for football. The programme will cover diverse subjects such as sports medicine fundamentals, football medicine in practice, exercise physiology, sports psychology, and more.

The distance-learning programme will have online self-paced learning modules including two in-person residential weeks to facilitate practical learning and assessment. The first residential week will take place in Bath and is optional. It will focus on sports science. The second residential week will be on clinical aspects and is also optional.
Students will be evaluated through a combination of coursework, essays, seminars, and written examinations. In addition to the taught and practical units, students will undertake research projects toward the end of their studies.
Recent graduates from the Department for Health have secured positions in the FIFA Medical Department, The Premier League, UEFA, Manchester United FC, and The FA.
