Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has started the UP board 2026 Class 10 and 12 exams 2026 for over 50 lakh students. According to the data shared by the UP board, more than 3.1 lakh students were absent for the first day of the UP Board exam 2026, and several impersonators were caught using unfair means during the paper. UP board conducted the 10th high school Hindi and Elementary Hindi subjects in the first shift and 12th intermediate Hindi and General Hindi subjects in the second shift. More than 52 lakh students had registered for the UP Board Hindi exam 2026.

Furthermore, more than 8,000 exam centres have been set up across the state, including 596 government schools, 3453 aided schools, and 3984 self-financed schools. Eighteen districts have been declared sensitive, with 222 centres identified as highly sensitive and 683 centres as sensitive.

UP Board Exams 2026: Eight impersonators caught

Three boys were caught in the UP Board 2026 10th exam using unfair means. Additionally, two candidates were caught using unfair means in Hapur district and one in Bareilly. One candidate each was caught giving the exam in place of another in Agra, Fatehpur, Kannauj, Kaushambi and Etawah districts. As per the board’s update, FIRs have been lodged against the impersonators.

“According to information received via telephone and email from the divisions and districts, no unpleasant situation arose in any district during the examination, and the examination was conducted fairly, without cheating, and peacefully,” the official UP board statement read.

Minister Gulab Devi said that holding a cheating-free, transparent, and fair exam is the government's top priority, and all students should appear for the exam with confidence and without stress.

UP Board Exams 2026: Strict security measures

The board has instructed Special Task Force (STF) and local intelligence to maintain vigilance during the exam period. As per guidelines, sets of question papers are being kept sealed in secure double-locked cabinets, and answer sheets are printed in four colors and with security features.

Notably, flying squads have been formed at the district and divisional levels, and necessary instructions have been issued to district magistrates and police officers for security arrangements. To ensure a fair exam, only schools equipped with CCTV, voice recorders, and DVRs have been designated as UP examination centres, and all centres will be monitored online from the state-level control room of the director of secondary education.
