The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has begun the WB Class 12 board exams 2026 for language paper today for 7.1 lakh students. The WB Uchha Madhyamik board exams will be held in a single shift from 10 am to 1:15 pm across the state.

The pen and paper WBCHSE Class 12 semester 3, 4 and supplementary exams will be held from February 12 to 27 at approximately 2,100 locations. The WB board has advised students to reach their respective exam centres half an hour before the reporting time for verification and frisking process.

The West Bengal board will conduct the language paper for Bengali, English, Hindi, Nepali, Urdu, Santhali, Odia, Telugu, Gujarati, and Punjabi today.

WBCHSE HSC 2026: Prohibited items, strict measures

Around 7.1 lakh students will be appearing in the WBCHSE Class 12 board exams 2026 and the documents required at the exam venue include a registration certificate issued by the school, and a govt photo ID or school ID card.

Those who have not yet acquired their WBSCHE Class 12 admit card can collect its from their respective schools because no student will be allowed inside the exam hall ticket without showing their WB Class 12 board exam admit card.

The WB Uchha Madhyamik Board has installed CCTV surveillance at all exam locations to ensure a fair and transparent process. The WB board has designated more than 100 exam centres as “sensitive” and set up stringent monitoring measures.

Electronic devices, written material, bags, smart watches and similar prohibited items cannot be brought inside examination venues, as per the official guidelines.

“Only the examinees of Higher Secondary Examination, 2026 under the Old System may bring and use the calculator (enabling normal calculations with trigonometric, exponential & logarithmic functions) in the examination hall,” the guidelines said.

West Bengal Class 12 Board: Minutes of board exam

The following is the bell timing for candidates taking the WBCHSE class 12 supplementary semester 3 and semester 4 exams. Students appearing for the exam must strictly follow the bell timing to avoid any confusion during the exam.

  • The first bell will ring 15 minutes before the exam to alert students and allow them to settle in the examination hall.
  • After that, the second bell will ring at the start of the exam, after which students can begin writing their answers.
  • The third bell will ring 5 minutes before the end, so students can review their answers before submitting the paper.
  • And at the final bell, students must stop writing immediately and submit their answer scripts as instructed by the invigilators.

WB Class 12 Board Exam 2026: Timings for semester 4, 3, supplementary

The WB Class 12 semester 4, 3 supplementary exams will follow the same subject-wise dates but different timings. The WB semester 4 exams for vocational, visual arts and music tests from 10 am to 11:15 am.

The WB semester 3 supplementary exams will be held from 1 pm to 2:15 pm, and these specific subjects from 1 pm to 1:45 pm.
