What is CBSE Board objective criterion? Know Class 10 evaluation criteria
Education Minister Pokhriyal informed that the CBSE objective criteria method will be used to promote Class 10 students. However, students who are not satisfied can give exams when the situation normalises.

NEW DELHI: In a press conference, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal talked about the cancellation of CBSE Class 10 exams and the postponement of CBSE Class 12 exams. “Usually we conduct the board examination in mid-February but due to the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases, we have already rescheduled the examination to May 4, 2021,” the minister said.

“In a high-level meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have decided to cancel the Class 10 examination. The decision is taken keeping the safety of students, teachers and parents on priority,” he added.

What is CBSE Board objective criterion?
The education minister explained, “The Class 10 students will be promoted on the basis of CBSE objective criterion. The marks will be evaluated by combining the practical examination performance and internal assessment. CBSE will make a proper plan for objective criterion to evaluate the marks and to promote the students.”
If students are not satisfied with the marks allotted using the CBSE objective criterion of Class 10, they can appear for the examination. In such conditions, CBSE will release the board exam 2021 schedule when the situation becomes normal.
The CBSE Class 12 examinations are postponed till May 30, 2021. Further exam dates will be decided based on the situation on June 1, 2021. He said, “The CBSE Class 12 exam dates will be released in a way that students will get at least 15 days to prepare for the examination.”
Now, over 35 lakh students of CBSE Class 10 and 12 are waiting for further decisions. Over 20 lakh students of CBSE Class 10 will be promoted based on the CBSE objective criterion method.
The minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the education board are concerned about the students’ safety and education.
