BHU to explore possibilities to start PG programme in artificial intelligence

NEW DELHI: Banaras Hindu University is planning to introduce two year, Master of science programme in artificial intelligence. The decision has been taken keeping in mind the importance of artificial intelligence in different fields, especially cyber security.
The vice chancellor, BHU, Rakesh Bhatnagar has set up a committee to look out for various prospects such as preparation of course structure, modalities of learning programme, scope of research and syllabus.
The committee on its first meeting held on October 7 discussed several aspects and invited suggestions from the members of the committee. The meeting was attended by professsors and academicians including A.K. Agarwal, Banketeshwar Tiwari, A. K. Subbiah, S. K. Singh and Anil Kumar Pandey under the chairmanship of Anand Mohan, member executive council.

“The idea is also in line with the New Education Policy 2020, which puts a greater emphasis on technology-based learning and skilling as a major part of the education,’” reads an official press release.
“The course in the field of artificial intelligence will provide trained technical manpower to the country and will be a great asset in the area of virtual world which will not only be useful to society but to the country as a whole as well,” further reads the press release.
