Subscribe NowNEW DELHI: The Bihar State Education Department has extended the validity of the Bihar TET Certificate validity to lifetime as per National Council for Teacher Education’s (NCET) guidelines. Earlier the validity of the Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test certificate was 7 years only from the date of issue.
According to a news report by News18.com “An order in this regard has been issued by the Arshad Firoz, Deputy Secretary, Education Department stating that concerned authorities will take action as per the notification issued by the State Education Department”.
The BSEB will enforce the order for Bihar TET certificate validity for lifetime order with retrospective effect from 2012, as the first Teacher Eligibility Test certificate in Bihar was issued in May 2012.
On June 3 the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ in a press conference announced that “The Union Government has decided to extend the Teacher Eligibility Test qualifying certificate validity period from 7 years to lifetime with retrospective effect from 2011.”
Last year, the National Council for Teacher Education’s had decided to extend the validity of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test certificate to lifetime.
About Bihar TET
The Bihar Teachers Eligibility Test is conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB). It is conducted once a year. Candidates who fulfill the Bihar TET eligibility can apply for the Bihar TET 2021 exam. The upper age limit to apply for male candidates is 37 years and for females it's 40 years.
Bihar TET exam is conducted for recruitment of teachers for Classes 1 to 8. It has two papers - paper 1 for teachers of class 1st to 5th and paper 2 for teachers of class 6th to 8th. It is conducted in offline mode at various centres in the state of Bihar.
