  • Time management and accuracy: To aim higher percentile in CAT 2022, aspirants need to focus on both time management and accuracy. It is advisable to target a score of 104 (CAT raw score) to be able to enter the 99 percentile bracket.

  • Speed reading the RC passages: This must be avoided as the RC passages in IIM CAT exam are inference based. If you speed read them, you will end up reading them again thus wasting your precious time.

  • Do not succumb to pressure: No matter what the situation is during the exam, do not lose your calm. In case you can’t solve any particular question, do not get stuck on it and yield to pressure. Instead, move on to the next CAT question.

  • Focus on strategies and tricks: Catching the root of concepts and fundamentals is more important than blindly following what learnt from books. There is one simple trick for arithmetic problems. Be it percentages, fractions, cost and profit, time-speed-distance or averages is using the inversely proportional method to solve the respective type of questions.

  • Solving CAT previous year question papers: Those aiming 99 percentile in CAT must skim through the previous year CAT question papers. Candidates appearing in CAT for the first time will get an idea of the difficulty level and the kind of questions they can get in the CAT 2022 exam.
