NEW DELHI : The Central Board of Secondary Education will open the portal for moderation and finalization of Class 12 results 2021 from July 16 (tomorrow afternoon) to July 22, 2021 (mid-night). The board has also asked schools to strictly follow the schedule as it is planning to release the result latest by July 31. If any school is left to complete the moderation within the stipulated time, their results will be declared after July 31, 2021, the board said.
“Moderating marks of Class 11 and 12 will be a great responsibility, which has to be done in a manner to ensure justice and fairness to students,” the official notification read.
The notice further read, “Schools will therefore have to, additionally, ensure that after moderation, the number of students with overall marks in the range of 95 and above, this year, is not more than the number of students scoring such overall marks, as per the best historic performance of the last three years.”
The broad pattern of distribution of students’ total marks (Theory + Practical) of a school (composite total of Class 10, 11, 12 theory marks is provided below.
On July 13, 2021, the board had issued a circular and asked the affiliated schools to “relook” at the marks given to their students and mentioned that the board is not satisfied with the marks submitted by the school heads.
The tabulation process had ended on June 30, 2021. With the new development, the board decided to reopen the portal and advised schools to follow the reference distribution while moderating the marks and ensure comparability while awarding higher marks to students.
This year, the CBSE board exams for Class 12 could not be held due to the spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country. It decided to evaluate Class 12 students based on 30% marks of the best three subjects of Class 10, 30% marks of Class 11, and 40% marks of unit test, mid-term or pre-board exams of Class 12.
