CBSE asks schools to apply for increase in number of sections to avoid student registration issues

NEW DELHI : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked schools running a lesser number of sections as per land availability to apply for an increase of sections to overcome issues of filling student details and others. Such schools can apply on the School Affiliation Re-Engineered Automation System (SARAS) portal by December 31, 2022.

“As the schools while filling the student details at the time of registration candidates in classes IX, X, XI and XII had faced difficulties. Thus in order to overcome this issue, the schools can apply se upto 31.12.2022,” read CBSE notification.

CBSE iterated that the schools are expected to run the numbers of sections within the limits of permissible number of sections as per quantum of land available with the school. However, the board has observed that there are schools who are having more land but the sections are lesser with respect to land available.

CBSE anticipated that these schools might have an increase in the number of students in due course of time resulting in requirement of higher number of sections. The schools will face problems in submission of List of Candidates (LOC) with the existing number of sections which will lead to further inconvenience for both the school and the students.

“Therefore, in order to avoid any last minute hardship in related activities like filling up of LOC, such schools are required to apply immediately for an increase in the number of sections in SARAS at present upto 31.12.2022,” CBSE notification further stated.
