NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the Class 10 science board exam on February 20. The exam will be conducted in a single shift, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, where over 24 lakh students are expected to write the exam.

Students are advised to carry their CBSE Class 10 admit card and school id as the board will not allow any candidate to write the exam without the hall ticket.

The CBSE Class 10 board science paper will consist of five compulsory sections. Section A will have 16 simple, complex MCQs and four assertion-reasoning type questions which will carry 1 mark each.

Section B will include a total of 6 Short Answer (SA) type questions with two marks each. Section C will be carrying 7 SA questions with 3 marks each. Section D will be filled with 3 Long Answer (LA) questions with 5 marks each and section E will include 3 source, case, passage based, integrated units of assessment, carrying four marks each with sub-parts of the values of 1, 2, 3 marks, as per the official website.

The CBSE Class 10 practical exams will be conducted from February 15 to March 15.

CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2025: Passing marks

Students need to score at least 33% in each theory subject to qualify for the Class 10 board exams. They also need to secure a minimum of 33% in the practicals, projects and internal assessments to pass. Hence, students need to obtain at least 33% in both theory and practicals combined to clear the board exams successfully.

Recently, the CBSE slammed the rumours regarding board exam paper leak and termed it “baseless” claims created for panic among students and parents. This comes after a viral video on social media titled ‘CBSE board exam 2025 paper out’ was circulated.

The board also urged the parents and students to remain vigilant to the baseless rumours regarding CBSE board exam paper leak.
