CBSE Class 10 science paper 2025 ‘easy’, ‘went well’, say students

CBSE Class 10 science paper leak rumours are false, the board has clarified. CBSE rubbished the reports of a paper leak and asked parents and students to remain vigilant against the fake claims . The paper leak reports surfaced after PhysicsWallah’s found Alakh Pandey claiming to have set the question paper and having all the questions supposed to be asked in the exam.

Careers360 accessed CBSE Class 10 science question paper 2025, according to which, the question paper comprised 39 compulsory questions, divided into five sections - a, b, c, d, and e. The section-wise number and type of questions are given below.

According to a student Antarpreet Kaur who received set 3 of question paper, the exam was easy and she didn't find anything difficult. “I finished it before time. One question in physics was difficult and biology went very well,” she said. The physics portion was comparatively lesser than chemistry and biology.

Another student found that the paper concentrated more on chemistry, about 70%. But the exam went very well, and the candidate is confident of scoring 70%.

Contrary to the usual reactions, a candidate found the science paper difficult. “Paper wasn't easy. Biology was pretty difficult, and there were some unexpected questions,” they said.

As per Vedanshi Tiwari, science paper was a blend of theoretical questions and case-based questions. The difficulty-level was more on the easier side and the paper consisted of more memory-based questions than experimental. The language of questions could easily be comprehended and the paper was structured in a way that could be completed on time, with adequate remaining time for revision.

CBSE Class 10 science exam 2025: Section-wise analysis

According to Jayant Kumar, HOD science, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Lucknow, Class 10 science board exam was a balanced question paper with easy-to-moderate difficulty.

• The section A of the question paper consisted of objective-type questions with a balance of theory-based questions. The last four questions of section A consisted of four assertion and reason questions based on remembering and understanding of the concepts. No numerical questions were asked in this section.
• The section B was moderate in difficulty and more focussed on the theoretical aspect of the subject.
• The section C was a blend of both theoretical and case based questions. One or two questions were based on experimental aspect with moderate difficulty.
• The section D consisted of theory based questions from physics, chemistry and biology with easy-to-moderate difficulty.
• Section E consisted of competency-based questions based on theoretical aspects of the subject. The question paper was easy and balanced.

"The students who had already solved the CBSE sample papers, read NCERT books and done exemplar exercises will score well. In a nutshell, the students were satisfied with the level of the question paper," the teacher added.
