CBSE Class 10 textbook cover shows J-K not part of India, CBSE issues clarification
CBSE clarified that the cover page of the Class 10 French Textbook which inadvertently shows the wrong map is from an earlier phased out edition of 2014.

NEW DELHI: A Twitter handle’s post on CBSE Class 10 French textbook cover showing Jammu and Kashmir not part of India has triggered controversy. The Legal Rights Observatory, a Twitter handle, having over 47,000 followers on Monday sought clarification from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) after posting the image of the CBSE textbook cover.
Tagging CBSE, Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Union home minister Amit Shah, it wrote on Twitter, “Hey @cbseindia29 is this true? Don't U recognize Jammu n Kashmir as integral part of India? Or you still have leftist gang holding tight control over school book section? U r touching new heights- from Gender Confusion in kids to JK Separatism! Amazing @dpradhanbjp. cc@AmitShah.”

However, the CBSE clarified that “the cover page of the Class 10 French Textbook which inadvertently shows the wrong map is from an earlier phased out edition of 2014 of the textbook. The revised version is available at CBSE website.”

As per the CBSE official website, CBSE Class 10 French textbook has been revised in 2014. The textbook is the fourth revised edition. The book was published by the Academics and Training Wing, Central Board of Secondary Education.
