CBSE instructs schools to form Yuva tourism clubs
Yuva Tourism Clubs are expected to develop soft skills among students and promote responsible and sustainable tourism practices.

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has instructed schools affiliated with CBSE to form Yuva Tourism Clubs as part of the tourism ministry initiative to establish Yuva Tourism Clubs with the objective to nurture and develop young ambassadors of Indian tourism.
According to a statement released by the ministry of tourism, the young ambassadors selected under the programme by the ministry of tourism will serve to promote tourism in India. The programme is expected to also develop soft skills such as teamwork, management, and leadership and promote responsible and sustainable tourism practices.
"The Yuva Tourism clubs that are being set up in various schools will promote national integration and build on the Prime Minister's vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat," said union tourism minister G Kishan Reddy. According to him, this programme will create awareness among students regarding the tourist destinations in India and upskill them to promote the tourism sector.

The ministry also shared a "Handbook for Schools for the conduct of Tourism Clubs" that lays out the operational strategies, guidelines and suggestions for the conduct of different activities under the programme. Schools are encouraged to carry out activities such as excursions, online or e-tourism, pen pals in the paired state or union territory (UT), learning the language of the paired state or UT, having exposure to the diversity, natural resources and rich heritage of India.
