Chhindwara KV to be awarded Nehru trophy for winning Youth Parliament contest
The Youth Parliament scheme of ministry of Parliamentary affairs aims at inculcating the spirit of self-discipline, tolerance of diverse opinion.

NEW DELHI: Ministry of Parliamentary affairs will organise the prize distribution function of 33rd National Youth Parliament Competition, 2022-23, for Kendriya Vidyalayas at Parliament House Complex here. Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1, Chhindwara, will be awarded the ‘Nehru Running Shield’ and trophy for taking the fist position at the nation-level.
Arjun Ram Meghwal, minister of state (Parliamentary affairs) will preside over the function and distribute the prizes. On this occasion, the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1, Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, which stood first at national-level in the National Youth Parliament Competition, 2022-23 for Kendriya Vidyalayas, will present a repeat performance of their ‘Youth Parliament’ sitting.

Ministry of parliamentary affairs has been organising ‘Youth Parliament’ competitions for Kendriya Vidyalayas. Under the scheme of Youth Parliament competition for Kendriya Vidyalayas, the 33rd competition in the series was organised during 2022-23, among 150 Kendriya Vidyalayas spread over 25 regions.
The Youth Parliament scheme aims at inculcating the spirit of self-discipline, tolerance of diverse opinion, righteous expression of views and other virtues of a democratic way of life among students. Besides, the scheme also acquaints the students with the practices and procedures of Parliament, techniques of discussion and debate and develops in them self-confidence, quality of leadership and the art and skill of effective oratory, the ministry said.
Zonal winner trophies will be awarded to four schools and 20 will get regional trophies for winning the regional level competition.
