This year, the board will conduct ICSE board exam 2021-22 in two parts. The council decided to divide the 2021-22 academic session into two semesters with a 50% syllabus covering each semester. The decision was taken by the council after considering the continuing disruption of educational activities and the closure of schools due to COVID-19.
Earlier, the ICSE exams were scheduled to be held from November 15 to December 6, however, they were postponed due to unknown reasons and rescheduled to November 29.

The board had earlier given an option for students to appear for term 1 and 2 board exams 2021-2022 in hybrid mode - both online and offline. It later announced to conduct the exams in offline mode only.
Challenging this, some ICSE students filed a plea in the Supreme Court seeking an option to appear in Class 10, 12 board exams 2022 in online mode.
The petitioners feared that the board exam 2022 datesheet for major subjects which is spread over three weeks could increase the risk of Covid-19 spread.

On November 18, the top court today dismissed the plea to conduct Class 10 term 1 exams in hybrid mode.
The bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar and CT Ravikumar dismissed the writ petition observing that the CBSE term 1 exams have already started on November 16 and ICSE term exams are commencing from November 22, so an intervention at this point would disturb the whole process, the report said.
