Coronavirus: Maharashtra postpones last Class 10 board exam

NEW DELHI: Maharashtra Government has postponed the last Class 10 state board examination scheduled on Monday amidst the COVID-19 scare, school education minister Varsha Gaikwad has announced.

This was confirmed by the Maharashtra government’s press office to Careers360 .

The department had scheduled the geography exam - also the last one for Class 10 students -- for Monday, March 23. The new date will be announced after March 31.

Over the past few days, the Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE ), the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination ( CISCE ) and the state boards of Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Kerala all postponed their board exams.

The total number of active COVID-19 cases in India is currently 231. Maharashtra is the state with the highest number of cases with 49
