NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD) has advised students and teachers to track coronavirus infection by using the mobile application, Aarogya Setu.

The Aarogya Setu app, launched by the government, gives alerts on COVID-19 positive people.

Amit Khare, the higher education secretary of the MHRD wrote a letter to all secondary and higher education regulators, including the University Grants Commission, All India Council for Technical Education, National Institute of Open Schooling, National Council for Teacher Education, and others in this regard.

The Aarogya Setu app can be installed on mobile phones and people can assess the risk of catching the coronavirus infection based on their interaction with others. The app is available for downloading on both android devices and iOS devices.

Through his letter Khare also sensitized them on the need to make students and teachers aware of immunity boosting measures recommended by the health ministry.

Khare also recommended that educational institutions should encourage students, teachers and family members to follow the protocol developed by the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurvedic, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) on immunity boosting measures for self-care.
