NEW DELHI - The Minister of State for Personnel Dr Jitendra Singh in a reply said that the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will have the CSAT as its exam pattern for the IAS (Civil Services Exam). As per the reply given by the minister, the Government of India has decided to not drop the CSAT from the preliminary exam pattern. The CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) is a part of the UPSC IAS prelims exam pattern. The minister continued that the government is also not planning to replace interviews with the psychological test.
This comes in response to rumours that were making rounds that UPSC might scrap the CSAT from its prelims exam pattern. As per sources, “No sir” was the response given by Minister Singh in a written reply to Rajya Sabha to a query on whether there are plans to drop the CSAT.
The UPSC IAS exam for prelims stage is scheduled to be held on October 04, 2020, while the mains are scheduled from January 08, 2021. The CSE exam is conducted in three stages Preliminary, Mains and Interview stage. The exam was earlier postponed due to corona fear.
